But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. – John 4:23
Larry Sage began his music ministry while still attending Azusa Pacific University in 1990. Throughout the past 27 years, Larry has served in both support and leadership roles in six separate churches and considers music ministry to be a way “to engage with God in a communal as well as personal intimate way.”
“I believe worship should be about removing the distractions that would keep us from having an encounter with God. It should be Spirit inspired, biblically accurate and relevant to where the community is. The music selection, style and instrumentation are important but my hope would be that reagardless of taste, tradition or preference, everyone would find a moment or many moments each week where they sense Gods presence.”
In addition to leading in music ministries, He and his wife Melissa, have also taught and led bible studies, served on church boards and committees and continue to be “open for Gods leading” to other opportunities in the church.
As for long term goals and desires, Larry and Melissa are content to be a part of a fellowship which values a growing relationship with Christ and living out our lives “to seek and save the lost, comfort the weak and poor and live by the strength and power of the Spirit.”
Larry and Melisss have five children and have hosted two separate exchange students. “Family life can be an adventure but God has taught us so much through the challenges of being a parent. We are excited that God has brought us to Northampton and look forward to seeing how God uses us.”
